World Health Organization (WHO)

The Global Clinical Practice Network (GCPN) is an international and multilingual network of mental health and primary care professionals, established by the World Health Organization’s Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse. The GCPN was established as a core mechanism for the development of the classification of mental and behavioural disorders in the next version of WHO’s International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-11).
Supriya Nair has participated in a number of internet-based field studies that will contribute to ensuring that the next diagnostic manual is clinically useful and accurate in mental healthsettings around the world.


TEDxChurchgate was Mumbai's first and only independently organized TED conference that was held in conjunction with the global community of more than 50 TEDx events on the same day, all focusing on re-imagining the city of the future.
Supriya Nair's talk, The Sleepless City: Waking up to a New Urban Mindscape, can be viewed here. In this talk, Supriya exhorts the need for an ideal city to have strong preventive psychological interventions across all institutional levels.


An international conference on Integrated Value Education was held from 26th June 2006, in association with UNESCO, World Bank Institute and Indian National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO, Ministry of Human Resources. The conference brought together thinkers from all walks of life to find new ways of dealing with the challenges in learning environments.
"The conference will highlight the need for integrated value education to ensure world-class holistic education which facilitates cognitive, physical, emotional, social and spiritual growth of a child," - Haya Ramon, member of the organizing committee.
Supriya Nair, chaired and presented cognitive, behavioural and existential strategies and interventions that contributed to ideas for better educational practices.


Supriya Nair conducted a Seminar (Closed Event), She Can and She Will: Redefining Boundaries on Women's Empowerment, on 24th January 2013 at Sophia College for Women, Mumbai.

The key objectives of the Seminar were
  • To sensitize students to issues related to the girl child
  • To create awareness about the importance of resilience and resourcefulness in coping
  • To understand the need for promoting resilience in women
  • To sensitize students to the ways of promoting resilience
